Alice Marie Besecker, 86, of Troy and formerly of Pitsburg, died at 7:25 p.m. April 9, 2007, at Harborside Healthcare in Troy.

She was born April 13, 1920, in Pitsburg, daughter of George and Ida Hofacker. She was married Dec. 24, 1941, to Harry J. Besecker, who died Nov. 4, 1999. Also preceding her in death were 12 brothers and sisters.

She was a retired school teacher from Arcanum Butler School with 34 years of teaching. Mrs. Besecker was a member of Pitsburg United Methodist Church and Retired Teachers Card Club. She was a graduate of Bowling Green State University.

Surviving are daughters and sons-in-law, Judy and Michael Webber of Troy and Charlotte and Leith Adams of Los Angeles, Calif.; grandchildren, Dane Cozatt, Darin Cozatt and Cameese and Neil Pikus; great-granddaughters, Willow and Sidney; four stepgrandsons; four stepgreat-grandchildren; and special friends, Harley and Esther Martin.

The funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville, with burial to follow in Newcomers Cemetery, Darke County.

Family will receive friends from 3 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
