Mrs. Bishop, born in Jackson County, NC; was the daughter of the late A. Calvin Wilson and Charlotte Johnson Bishop and the widow of Quenton Bishop. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Clydas Bishop Guffey; son-in-law, Tom Guffey and six brothers and sisters, Leo, Andy, Dock and Lloyd Wilson, Minnie Ridley and Mary Hartness.
She was an active member of Zion Hill Baptist Church, teaching Sunday School, served as church clerk and Bible School. She loved ceramics, sewing, reading and watching wild life.
She is survived by her son, Larry Bishop (Frances) of Franklin; daughter, Nancy Young (Jason) of Oak Island; one granddaughter, Julia McDowell-Grigg (Thomas) of Boiling Spring Lakes; one great grandson, Jacob McDowell and numerous nieces and nephews.
