In loving memory of Katherine "Katie" A. Jackson, age 84. Katie passed away on Sunday March 12, 2017 at Cherry Ridge Nursing home in Emmett, Idaho. Katie was born on April 16, 1932 in Bridgeport, Nebraska to Oliver and Besse Parks. When Katie was very young, the family moved to Oregon and then Idaho. Years later, she met the love of her life, Harry Elmer Jackson. Katie and Harry were married on September 30, 1948. They raised six children while living on a farm in Ada County. In 1971, Katie went to work at Capitol High School as a cook and retired from there after 25+ years of service. Katie loved gardening, crafts, cooking, and most of all, her family.
She is survived by her daughter Jan (Jess) Rice of Kingman, Arizona, daughter Kristy (Tracy) Hunt of Emmett, Idaho, and daughter Robin (Bryan) Coller of Star, Idaho. Katie also has numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Jackson, her daughters Diane Young and Vicki Ford, her only son Randy Jackson, as well as her sisters Gertrude, Leotta, Betty and brother Glen.
A public viewing will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at Cloverdale Funeral Home in Boise, Idaho on Monday March 20, 2017. The Funeral Service will be the same day at 11:00 AM in the Cloverdale Funeral Home chapel and interment to follow at Terrace Lawn Memorial Garden.
