Mark "Coyote" David Willey 53, Indianapolis, passed away January 28, 2007. He was born July 10, 1953 in Indianapolis the son of Richard and Euneva Willey. Mark had been a professional musician and preformed as a singer and bass player with bands throughout the Midwest for more than 30 years. He was also a professional songwriter and, for the last several years, has concentrated his efforts writing and performing his original music as a solo artist. "My theory is that if it's a good song, it will work acoustically," explained Coyote. His songs tend to draw you to the truth that we live, not in a world of black and white answers, but of grays where right and wrong are not easily defined. Realizing that performing only original music might prove to be a challenge, Mark developed a repertoire that included a mix of classic and just plain good songs by other artists to complement his original material. Mark had put out a limited run CD to benefit the victims of September 11 and was working on his first CD. He returned back to his home area after 8 years out on the east coast and was excited to perform his music back on his own turf. Mark is survived by his mother, Euneva Willey; daughter, Leslie Alfrey; sons, Brandon, Ian and Nathan and 7 grandchildren. Funeral services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Feeney-Hornak Shadeland Mortuary. Memorial may be made to American Cancer Society. Tributes may be posted at www.mem.com.
