Duvall Funerals
Will Be Held In
Iager Sunday


Joint funeral services for Albert H. Duvall, 84, and his wife, Johnnie Phillips Duvall, 79, of Rt. 1, Bluefield, Va., who were killed Thursday in a two vehicle collision on U.S. Rt. 2 near Bramwell, will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday at the Fanning Funeral Chapel in Iaeger with Rev. Oliver Roberts, Rev. Lloyd Griffith and Rev. Martin E. Potter Sr. officiating. Burial will follow in Iaeger Memorial Gardens at Roderfield.

Mr. and Mrs. Duvall were married in July and were traveling to Iaeger to look at a house trailer when the car in which they were riding was involved in a collision with a pickup truck. Two occupants of the truck were hospitalized but not seriously injured.

Duvall was born in Ashe County, N.C. and was a son of the late Marshall and Sarah Duvall. He was a member of the Church of God in Abbs Valley, Va. He was also a retired miner and a member of UMWA Local 6193.

He is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Anthony (Pearl) Wysocik of Baltimore, Md.; one son, James Walter Duvall of Bluefield, Va.; one brother, Harvey Duvall of Anawalt; two sisters, Lizzie Gravely and Emma Buckanan, both of Big Four; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Duvall was born in Tennesssee and was a member of the Church of God on Rt. 2 in Iaeger.

She is survived by two sons, Carol Phillips and Earl Phillips, both of Iaeger; one daughter, Mrs. Levi (Aline) Long of Iaeger; 13 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

Friends will serve as pallbearers.

Friends may call at the funeral home today from 5 until 9 p.m.
