Norbert V. Bohling, age 90, of Valparaiso, IN, passed away on Sunday, April 22, 2018.

Norbert is survived by his daughter: Mary T. (Mike) Collins; son: James L. (Laura) Bohling Sr.; six grandchildren: James Jr., Rachel, and Hannah Bohling, Benjamin (Gretchen) Collins, and Samuel and Amy Collins; two sisters: Dorothy Wirtz and Marie Coleman; and many relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife: Nellie; daughter: Donna Ann; two brothers: Lawrence (Alice) Bohling and Arnold (Tiny) Bohling; and three sisters: Adeline (Harold) Weiler, Teresa (Joe) Stephen, and Marjorie (Loren) Charmichael.

Norb was a World War II Army Air Force Veteran, retired as a Chief Warrant Officer with the Army National Guard, and as a rural carrier for the U.S. Postal Service. He was also Office Manager at A-Metz Construction Company, an active member of Our Lady of Consolation Church, Ushers Club, Holy Name Society, 4th Degree Knights of Columbus and long-time Officer of the Good Shepard Council of the Knights of Columbus. He was also a member and former Officer of the Hobart Elks Lodge #1152 and a member of the American Legion Post #20. Norb was an avid reader and had an extensive library and was also a stamp collector, did cross-word puzzles in ink, loved to travel, and was a long-time member of Pinochle Club.
