He served in the US Navy. With his first wife, Jacqueline Lowe (d.1999), he had two children: Son Bill (William Harold Fox III) 1951-1974 and daughter Dianne Lynn Fox. Jr is survived by his wife Theresa. Junior was a Jehovah's Witness.
