Mrs. Grimes, born in Virginia, was the daughter of the late Oliver Jackson Pound and Lena Mae Knight Pound, and the widow of Charles P. Grimes, who she was married to for over 50 years. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Isabelle Irwin, and a brother, Roy Pound.
She made her home in the Leesburg, VA; area for over 20 years and retired with over 20 years of service as a telephone switchboard operator. She enjoyed quilting,collecting Holly Hobbie items and spending time with her dogs.
She was a member of First Baptist Church in Inwood, WV.
She is survived by two daughters, Judy Gooch (Charlie) of Jena, LA; and Kathy Neff (Bernie) of Winchester, VA; a son, Mike Grimes (Gail) of Fredericksburg, VA; three grandchildren, Kerri Rydel (Rick), Nancy Flores and Stephen Grimes; a sister, Ruth Sackadorf of Great Falls, VA.
A memorial service was held at 2 PM, Friday, April 27, 2018 at Enders & Shirley Funeral Home Chapel, Berryville, with Pastor Devin Ward officiating.
Burial was private.
