Leona Mae Williams Davis, 83, died April 22, 2018. Born and raised in Capron, VA, she was the daughter of the late Fannie Mae Joyner and Arthur Grover Williams. She was also predeceased by a sister, Daphne Williams Vaughan Dunn; and 3 brothers, Arthur Clifton Williams, Sidney Thomas Williams, and Gene Wesley Williams, Sr.

She was a graduate of Pan American Business School in Richmond, VA and worked several years in bookkeeping. She later served as voter registrar for Southampton County for 26 years. She was a member of Courtland United Methodist Church where she previously sang in the choir and served as secretary of the Administrative Board. She loved music, sewing, cooking, and spending time with her family. She enjoyed being a homemaker and always provided a loving home for her family and friends.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 62 years, Lewis Holmes Davis, Sr; two caring sons, Lewis Holmes Davis, Jr. and Benjamin Arthur Davis (Tricia); four precious grandchildren, Grayson Lewis Davis (Ashley), Olivia Ann Davis (David), Katherine Patricia Davis, and Benjamin Holmes Davis; one special great granddaughter, Shelby Mae Davis, and former daughter in law, Betty Gray Davis.

A graveside service led by Rev. Andrew Book will be held at 11am Thursday, April 26, 2018 at Riverside Cemetery in Courtland. The family will receive friends Wednesday, April 25, 2018 from 7pm to 8pm at Wright Funeral Home and suggests memorial donations be made to Courtland United Methodist Church Stained Glass Windows.
