Born December 7th, 1924 to Buford Zealious Dixon and Clara Lee Booker Dixon in Walnut Mississippi, he was 93 years old.
He was brother to Margaret Cercelius, Elizabeth Lorren and is survived by sister, Clara Moore of Tipplersville, MS. While his beloved wife of 72 years, Shirley Allene Eubanks Dixon, preceded him in death last year, he leaves a legacy of children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren who share his gregarious love for people and love for their savior, Jesus Christ. Daughter, Anita Dixon Haines (husband, David) and Gary Dixon (wife, Dianne) remain while daughter, Paula Dixon Massie, preceded him in death. Surviving grandchildren include David Haines, Jr., Brian (Shannon) Haines, Andrew (Rhea) Massie, and Jordan Massie along with great grandson, Isaiah Haines.
A.B. provided for his family through farming, automobile sales, battery sales, and real estate investments. He gave of himself in service as a U.S. Navy WWII veteran, as a 32-degree Mason and Al Chymia Shriner, and as a faithful and devoted deacon in the Baptist church. He touched many lives with his grand smile and spirited demeanor as he served for decades at Bellevue, Germantown, and Berclair Baptist churches. Surely the words, "Well done, my good and faithful servant" were echoed in the halls of heaven when our beloved "Granddaddy" was ushered into the throne of grace. Over all else, he would want you to know this same Jesus that so deeply loved him.
The Family will receive friends from 12pm until service time at 2pm, on Monday, April 23, 2018, at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 3700 N. Germantown Pkwy., Bartlett, TN 38133.
