Verna Gale Swett, 97, entered into eternal peace on Friday, March 10, in Red Bluff. She was born on January 3, 1920, in Fort Ripley, MN to Elizabeth & Jabez Burns McPherson.

Verna was preceded in death by her parents, 4 brothers, 4 sisters, husbands Rowe Miller & James Swett, and her beloved son Leonard Higgins.

Verna leaves us with so many loving & beautiful memories which will be cherished by her sister Lorraine Lippert of Redding & many nieces & nephews.

Verna was happily married to Rowe Miller for 42 years. Together, they were able to realize her dream of establishing Cosmetology Colleges, beauty salons & health spas in several cities in So. Calif. She was a talented beautician & an astute business woman. In retirement they moved to Shasta County to be near family. They enjoyed many years of friends & golf, being a long time member of Riverview Golf & Country Club.

In 2007 Verna again found comfort & love in her marriage to Colonel James Elms Swett. They traveled extensively where Jim was honored as a WWII Congressional Medal of Honor recipient.
