He was born July 21, 1936, in Kansas City, Missouri, to Cora (Farnsworth) Doughty and Edgar Carl Doughty. On August 21, 1978, he was united in marriage to Carol Jeannine Moran. He served in the United States Marine Corp., from 1955-1961. He was a 50 year member of the Plumbers Union Local #8. He helped construct the Denver International Airport. In his spare time, he enjoyed being outdoors on the farm.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 28 years, Carol Doughty. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by one sister, Joree Doughty, and by brothers, Edgar Carl Jr., Shannon, Kenneth, Donald, Billy, and Ned (Babe). He is survived by his two children, Jeannine Doughty and Martin (Ali) Doughty, as well as two grandchildren, Caroline and Grant Doughty, and a sister, Mary Torrence.
Graveside services will be held Thursday, April 26, 2018, at 2:00 p.m. Floral Hills East Memorial Gardens 25203 E 50 Hwy, Lee's Summit, MO 64086. Donations in his memory may be made to AIJCF, 11700 NW Plaza Circle, Kansas City, MO 64153, for the Big Creek Charolais Scholarship.
