Robin Lynn Anderson age 51 of Knoxville passed away April 19, 2018 at NHC Ft. Sanders. Robin was born June 2, 1966, at Sibley Hospital in Washington, D.C. She grew up in Adelphi, Maryland, where she was raised in a loving family by her mother and father, Ivan and Elizabeth Anderson, with her older sister, Kathryn Anderson Cannon and older twin brothers, Michael and Charles. She is preceded in death by her beloved father. Robin named the family dog "Chocolate Candy Bar" which was shortened to Candy, because she could say it. Robin accomplished many achievements in childhood that most take for granted. She was enrolled in the Lakeland Duckworth Special Centers where she had many friends and favorite teachers and activities. She learned sign language, how to write her name, and enjoyed riding the school bus and participating in school activities. Robin graduated from Duckworth in 1986 and moved to Tennessee with her mother and father. She worked at Sunshine Industries where in addition to working she enjoyed social activities such as date nights and bowling. She enjoyed participating in the Special Olympics, both as a child in Maryland and later in Tennessee, where she won many ribbons. Robin also was enrolled in Star Academy where she became an accomplished horsewoman with her horse Poco. Robin enjoyed taking vacations in Pennsylvania with her brother Charles and his family, where she went swimming, fishing and participated in many activities. Robin was a member of Third Creek Baptist Church and enjoyed Sunday school, especially singing songs about Jesus. Robin loved people unconditionally and was loved everywhere she went in return. Robin was especially beloved by her extended family of nieces, nephews, great-niece and great-nephew, Jesse Cannon, Kea Cannon, Jay Cannon, Ian Anderson, Erin Anderson, Kate Anderson, Kaleigh Anderson and Caden Anderson. The family will receive friends 4-6 pm Sunday at Weaver's Chapel with the service to follow at 6 pm. Family and friends will meet at 10:45 am Monday at Caledonia Cemetery for an 11 am interment.
