Born in West Reading, she was the daughter of Catherine R. (Kershaw) Diggan, Upper Tulpehocken Twp.; and the late Frederick I. McCauley. Jenny was a 1992 graduate of Hamburg Area High School and also graduated from the Reading Hospital School of Radiology. She worked as a radiology technologist for Lancaster Regional Hospital. Jenny had a great love for her family and was loved by everyone. Jenny (Jen) was a loyal friend to so many; once you were one of her friends, you were a friend for life. She had a smile that lit up every room she walked into. Jenny had a thoughtful and caring spirit that touched everyone who knew her. She loved dogs and cats and was proud to be Irish. Jenny enjoyed going for walks and hiking, loved the beach and sunflowers; loved listening and dancing to music and going to concerts, and cherished the times she spent with friends and family. She will be dearly missed and always remembered.
Surviving in addition to her mother is her sister: Kimberly A., wife of Bradley Merkel, Ormond Beach, Florida; two brothers: Todd and Scott McCauley, both of Pittsburgh; nephews and niece: Justin and Kayla Merkel and Steven McCauley. Jenny is also survived by her first cousin: Charles Swift, Shartlesville; step-siblings: Mark Diggan, Sandstone, Minnesota; Frank Diggan, Jr., Savage, Minnesota; Adam Diggan, Lewisburg; Matthew Diggan, Williamsport; and Aimee Armstrong, Northwood, North Dakota; and numerous cousins and friends. She was predeceased by her step-father: Frank C. Diggan; and will be missed by her fur-babies: Snickey and Romeo.
A service to celebrate Jenny's life will be held on Saturday, April 28, 2018, at 6:00 pm from Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., 223 Peach Street, Leesport. A visitation will be held in the funeral home on Saturday 4:00 to 6:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Animal Rescue League of Berks County, 58 Kennel Road, Birdsboro, PA 19508.
