Gerald L. Bickert, 86, of Lincoln, Nebraska, passed away April 19, 2018, at his home. He was born August 3, 1931, in Exeter, the son of Gerald and Iva (Condon) Bickert. Gerald married Phyllis M. Hall on January 3, 1951, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in McCool Junction, Nebraska. He farmed in Exeter, Nebraska, and moved to Lincoln, Nebraska where he worked for Adco Construction and then owned Bickert Construction. Gerald enjoyed reading the Bible, helping family and friends build and fix things, and playing card games. He liked being outdoors. Gerald was a member of the American Legion and the VFW.
Gerald is survived by his wife of 67 years, Phyllis Bickert; children, Lonnie (Becky) Bickert, and Lisa Bickert all of Lincoln, NE; grandchildren, Jessica Stanton, Katherine Bickert and Nia Bickert; great-grandchildren, Nichoulas, Ayden, and Elijah; sister, Donna (Alden) Rodgers of Arizona; nieces; along with grand-puppies, Fiona and Wilferd.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Memorial Service will be 10:00 am, Tuesday, April 24, 2018, at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home, 5200 R Street. Burial will at 12:30 pm, at Pleasant Ridge Cemetery near McCool Junction, Nebraska. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
