She was a 1956 graduate of Morehead City High School.

She was predeceased by her parents, Fred Gordon and Elsie Murphy Lewis; and her husband, Lt Col Raymond Earl Willis. She was survived by her son and his wife; four daughters; three sons-in-law; and her grand-daughter.

A memorial service was held on Saturday, June 24, 2017, at Brooks Funeral Home, Morehead City, NC. Interment on April 26, 2018.
