Marilyn J. Laird, 82, passed away on Saturday, April 21, 2018, at Graham Hospital in Canton.
She was born on October 8, 1935 in Superior, Iowa to James and Vivian (Kathman) Walsh. They preceded her in death.
She married R. Kline Laird on August 4, 1956 in Canton. He survives.
Also surviving are her children, Greg (Jill) Laird of Bloomington, Julie (Jerry) Zarley of Canton, Kathy (John) Rosich of Avon, IN, Kelly (Brian) Dougherty of LaPlata, MD, sisters, Lorraine (Blake) Fengel of Canton, Judy (Larry) Jenkins of Peoria, Dixie Guss of Fountain Hills, AZ, brother in law, Gene Peacock of Beardstown, nine grandchildren, Scot Powers, Eric (Jill Romine) Powers, Kelsey (Paulo Gonzalez) Laird, Kristen (Warren Race) Laird, Nathan Rosich, Katelyn Rosich, Megan Rosich, Justin Siders, Jason Siders, one step grandchild, Molly (Josh) Reddell and two great grandchildren, Ryleigh Powers and Piper Siders and two more on the way this fall.
Also preceding her in death is one sister, Carol Peacock.
Marilyn worked for the Fulton County Health Department for 19 years retiring in 1995. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. She loved playing Bridge, traveling and cheering on the Cubs. She also was skilled at knitting, and enjoyed making afghan blankets for her grandchildren. She found time in her busy schedule to attend or support all of her kids and grandkids events throughout their lives.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 24, 2018 at the Oaks-Hines Funeral Home in Canton from 5-7 pm with a recitation of the rosary at 7 pm.
A funeral service Mass will be held on Wednesday, April 25, 2018 at 10 am, at St Mary's Catholic Church in Canton.
Burial will be held at St Joseph Cemetery in Canton.
