James “Jim” Marvin Fussell, age 68, of Lehigh Acres Florida and formerly of Fitzgerald, died Tuesday, July 15, 2014 at his residence.

Funeral services will be held at 2 PM, Saturday, July 19, 2014, at The Paulk Funeral Home Chapel, Fitzgerald with the Rev. Ronnie Vice officiating. Interment will be in Englewood Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends Friday evening, July 18, 2014 from 6-8 PM at the funeral home in Fitzgerald.

Jim was born February 16, 1946, to the late Marvin Henry and Lucy Griffin Fussell in Irwinville, GA. Jim made his home in Lehigh Acres Florida where he was part of a loving group home. He was handicapped and faced many challenges in life, but his family said he was just a joy and a lot of fun to be around. He loved to sing the chorus to, “I’ll Fly Away”, and was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include his sisters: Martha F. Blagg of Trumann, AR, Dean F. Copeland and husband Jackie of Brookfield and Nancy F. Cook and husband Wayne of Tifton; several nieces and nephews also survive. The family would like to express their sincere thanks to Jim's special caregivers that has been there for him the last twenty-one years, Tina and Bob Herrera. His parents and a brother, William “Bill” Fussell, preceded him in death.
