Jerry was born Aug. 2, 1949, in Decatur, Ill., son of John and Mary Wallen Crabtree. He graduated from Eisenhower High School in Decatur in 1968. He worked as an over the road trucker for over 20 years including 10 years for ABF. Jerry served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. Jerry was a member of the First Christian Church in Mt. Pulaski, the Masonic Lodge #87, Scottish Rite, York Rite, and the Ansar Shrine.
Survivors include his daughter, Sarah Crabtree of Lincoln; son, Jim Crabtree of Lincoln; daughter , Ann Crabtree; sisters; Pat (George) Guinn of Friendswood, Texas, Pam Cremeans of Decatur, and Terry Moses of Mt. Zion; and his grandchildren; Seth Huffman, Arianna Fulk, and Kyle, Kaitlyn, Juliette Crabtree and Anthony Cherim.
He was preceded in death by his parents. A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. on Thursday, May 21, 2015, at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln. A visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. before the service at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to: the Masonic Brotherhood in Mt. Pulaski.
