25. Edwar6 [14] (Nathaniel5, Henry4, Ezckicl3, etc.), in. Rachel Shaw, dan. of John8 (««»), Oct. 14, 18IU (Crockett). After living several years in Sanbornton and Hill, owning half his father's place, he proved himself one of " those brave, hardy, enterprising men. who struck out into the wilderness of Michigan, and laid the foundation for present homes of plenty and allluence." He "located" the beautiful tract of land in Jackson Co. (town of Blackmail), embracing his own farm, his brother Nathaniel's, and one other, in 1829. Returning for his family, he went back in the spring of 1830, and settled upon this spot, where he lived for 33 years, and d., Dec. 13, 1863, in his 73d year. "One of the first and best "of the pioneers of Jackson Co. Children:
