Anna was born on July 9, 1918 at Hobbs Chapel in Dexter, Missouri, to Chalen and Mabel Hobbs. She was the second-youngest of twenty -three children. She married Elbie King and moved to Kennett, Missouri, where they raised their two sons, Earl and Tommy. Anna worked in the Ely Walker Shirt Factory in Kennett until she retired.
Anna was a “fiesty” woman, known for speaking her mind. She enjoyed exercising, walking every day until her health and the loss of her eyesight no longer allowed her to do so. More than anything else, she loved her Savior, Jesus Christ. Her love for Him showed itself most clearly in the way she loved and served her family. She was a blessing to all who knew her.
Anna was preceded in death by her husband, Elbie King, her parents, Chalen and Mabel Hobbs: twenty-two siblings: and one daughter-in-law, Ruby King. She is survived by her two sons: Earl and Tommy King (Ellie): five grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, five great-great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Her family will be receiving guests at 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM Monday, April 16, 2018 at the McDaniel Funeral Home in Kennett, Missouri. Graveside services celebrating her life and legacy, officiated by Reverend Jerry Jolly, will follow at 11:00 AM at the Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Kennett, Missouri.
