Mary was born December 26, 1961, in Kansas City, KS.
Mary was a teacher for the Kansas City, KS Public Schools for 30 years retiring last year from Frank Rushton Elementary School. She had taught at Claude Huyck and White Church Elementary Schools. Later moving to Central Office as a Literacy Leader prior to transferring to New Chelsea where worked as Teacher Leader. She ended her career at Frank Rushton Elementary first as their Teacher Leader and then teaching back in the classroom till she retired.
Mary was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church where she and her husband taught ESL classes this past year. She was a member of PEO (Philanthropic Education Organization) the past two years, which supports Women reaching for the Stars. Mary and George volunteered for Meals on Wheels and had a route in the OP area.
She was preceded in death by her father Spyros Theodore Foundopoulos. Mary is survived by her beloved husband, George A. Hernandez, mother Maryln J. Foundopoulos, brother Theodore Spyros (Shawna) Foundopoulos, sister Mayia Ann (Viliamu) Visesio,
