He received his formal education in the Beaufort County school system. He worked several jobs in Beaufort County before he became ill. “Gene” as he was affectionately known enjoyed socializing mostly with family and friends. He also loved taking pictures.
On Thursday, April 19, 2018 at Riverside Health & Rehabilitation Center in Charleston, SC. Eugene “Gene” Jenkins entered into eternal rest. He will truly be missed by those who knew and loved him. In addition to his father he was preceded in death by his sister, Janie Jenkins.
Eugene Jenkins leaves to cherish his mother, Isabelle Jenkins; two daughter, Tijanee’ Barnwell and Ajanee’ Barnwell; four sisters, Deloris Thomas (Rollin), Alnora Reid, Mary Powell (Kenny) and Joann Singleton Singleton Camel (Reena); brother, Cleveland Jenkins, Jr.; three nephews, Curtis Thornton, Terry Thornton and Jordan Camel; niece, Danielle Camel; special aunts, Katherina Austin and Queen Singleton; along with a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.
Eugene Jenkins 51 of St. Helena Island, SC, died Thursday, April 19, 2018 at Riverside Health and Rehad in North Charleston, SC. He was the son of Isabelle Jenkins and brother of Joann Singleton - Camel. Visitation will be held from 5-7 pm Monday, April 23, 2018 at Allen Funeral Home Chapel in Beaufort, SC. Funeral service will be held 11 am Tuesday, April 24, 2018 at Bethesda Christian Fellowship on St. Helena Island. Allen Funeral Home of Beaufort in charge.
