Roy Taylor was born June 18, 1936 in Wheelwright, KY. He departed this life Tuesday, February 22, 2022 at Jean Waddle Care Center in Somerset, KY, reaching the age of 85 years.

He was the son of Perlin and Eva Mae (Bingham) Taylor; whom preceded him in death. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his brother, Allen Taylor; two sisters, Etta Martin and Clotine Rowe; one grandson, Seamus Taylor Lintott; and one nephew, Donald Martin.

On August 2, 1954, Roy was inducted into service in the United States Army. After his tour, he was honorably discharged on August 1, 1957. He was proud of his service to his country.

An astute businessman, Roy was involved in many business ventures. Some of which included his partnership in one of Pulaski County's first television cable systems, Burnside CATV and he was a past president of KCTA. In 1992, he incorporated CNI Wireless and began broadcasting in 1995. Roy was part owner of AM radio station - WTLO of Somerset.

Roy is survived by: his wife, Katie (Vaughn) Taylor; one son, Mitchell Taylor; one daughter, Ashely (Scott) Lintott; four grandchildren, Aidan Lintott, Rory and Rowan Lewis, and Ethan Taylor; along with a host of family and friends who mourn his passing.

Roy was an avid golfer and enjoyed traveling with his wife, Katie.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, February 27, 2022 between 11 am – 2 pm in the chapel of the Hicks-Vaughn Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Sunday, February 27, 2022 at 2 pm at the Hicks-Vaughn Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Elk Spring Cemetery.
