Daniel P. Callihan, 18, of Carlisle Township, died Saturday, Nov. 15, 1997, at Grant Hospital in Columbus following an ATV accident in southern Ohio.
He was born on April 9, 1979, in Medina, and was a lifelong resident of the Lorain County area. Mr. Callihan was a senior in the auto body department at the Lorain County Joint Vocational School, a member of the class of 1998 at Keystone High School, a member of Vocational Industrial Clubs of America, and he competed in state competition for auto body for the 1996-97 school year. He was a member of Christ the King Church in North Olmsted, the Royal Rangers at Christ the King Church, and the Musketeers 4-H club. Mr. Callihan worked at Sharpnack Chevrolet in Vermilion and enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He is survived by his mother, Deborah Callihan (nee Meager) of Carlisle Township; father, James Callihan of Circleville, Ohio; sisters, Mary Callihan of Elyria and Erin Callihan of Carlisle Township; and grandparents, Bruce and Sally Meager of Wadsworth.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Edward and Marjorie Callihan.
Service: 11 a.m. Thursday at Bauer Laubenthal Wainwright Funeral Home, 38475 Chestnut Ridge and state Route 57, Elyria. The Rev. Thomas Slater will officiate.
Burial: Brookdale Cemetery, Elyria.
