He was a junior at Crestwood High School, where he was a triple-sport athlete at Crestwood High School, playing football, baseball and track. He played defensive end / linebacker on the varsity football team. He also was a very active member of St. Mark United Methodist Church and worked for Chuck E. Cheese's of Sumter.
Joshua is survived by his parents, Robert K. Goodman Sr. and Theresa P. Goodman of Sumter; his brothers, Robert K. Goodman Jr. of Greenville and Marcus L. Goodman of the home; his special friend, Janiyah Steplight of Dalzell; a maternal grandmother, Mary Peterson; a paternal grandfather, Will Goodman; an adopted grandmother, Betty Woods; a godmother, Lori P. Hodge; two godbrothers, Dominque and Diondre Hodge of Sumter; three aunts, Shirley (Eddie) Mack, Sandra (Ernest) Isaac and Linda Goodman, all of Sumter; eight uncles, Douglas (Pauline) Peterson, Michael (Sharon) Peterson of Elgin, Kelvin (Evonne) Peterson, Nathan Burroughs, Will Henry Goodman Jr., Theodre Goodman, Leroy (Joyce) Goodman and James Goodman, all of Sumter; and a host of other aunts, uncles, other relatives and dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Douglas Peterson Jr.; paternal grandmother, Roseanna Goodman; his two great-grandmothers, Corine Peterson and Viola Carter; and adopted grandfather, William Woods.
Funeral service: Crestwood High School Auditorium, 2000 Oswego Highway, Sumter, SC 29153 with Pastor Geneva Stafford officiating.
Interment: St. Mark UMC Cemetery.
