Angelina was born Angeline Cox Leister on June 8, 1841 in Whitemarsh, Montgomery county, Pennsylvania. Both the Cox and Leister family names were common in Whitemarsh and are tied to the Union Lutheran Church where Angeline, her second husband William Moyer and her parents Mary Ann (nee Cox) and Jessie Leister are buried.

About 1852 Angeline and her parents moved to Philadelphia. Her mother Mary Ann Leister is listed as the homeowner for 662 N. 8th St. (became 1208 N. 8th St. in the late 1850s when the City changed the street numbering system). Angeline's mother probably bought the house with inheritance money from her father John Cox who died in 1849.

Angelina married William McLachlan on June 7, 1860. They continued to live with her parents at 1208 N. 8th St. The couple had their first child Mary Ann on May 29, 1861. Her husband went away from October 1862 to June 1865 while serving in the 118th "Corn Exchange Regiment" during the Civil War. Their daughter Ella May was born on January 16, 1863.

There address when her daughter Maggie was born on February 2, 1868 was 827 Darien St. There address when her son William was born on December 17, 1869 was 2016 Brown St.

Her husband William McLachlan died on January 4, 1874 of tubercolosis. He had been bedridden for two years. The couple lived at 2022 Bodine St. at the time.

On August 11, 1875 she remarried to William Moyer, bricklayer, at the Hedding Methodist Church at 653 N. 16th St. by Rev. Thomas R. Miller. Later records state that the marriage was officiated by the Rev. Francis E. Church.

In 1872, Moyer had been widowed from the death of his previous wife, Anna Maria Cox, half-sister of Angeline's mother Mary Cox.

1880 Census: age 39, occupation: keeping house at 1928 Warnock St., that she could both read and write, and that she was born in Pennsylvania. In addition, her parents were born in Pennsylvania.

1886 - 1890: h. 2536 Columbia Ave.

June 14, 1900 census: 2930 N. York St. Census reports "mother of 4 children; 4 children still living"

October 23, 1906: postal address was 2158 N. 27th St. (Declaration for Widow's Pension). Address of daughter Emma, wife of George Campbell.

April 16, 1910 census: 2720 Oxford St. Reports "mother of two children; 1 still living.

Grandson William McLachlan (1904 - 1999) remembered that, when he was a small boy, Angeline went on a vacation to Newtown Square with her grand-daughter Alma Campbell. They were both heavy women weighing over 200 pounds each and the bed collapsed where they were staying. They both had a hard time getting up. Grandson William always thought this was very funny.

Her second husband William Moyer died April 4, 1914. At the time, the couple's address was 2720 Oxford St.

In 1916 she successfully applied for a Widow Pension for her first husband's Civil War service.

On or about December 10, 1917 she went to live with her daughter Florence and Florence's husband George W. Campbell at 1758 N. 29th St. (pension file)

Her tombstone cannot be located.
