Born September 18, 1933 in Springfield, NH, she was the daughter of Omer and Wilma (Knox) Melanson. She was one of ten children.
Anita was a stay-at-home mom, started a career as a clothing buyer, then worked at Rockingham Nursing Home until the age of 80.
Anita was happiest when spending time with family. She enjoyed bowling, Bingo, trips to Foxwoods, vacations to Disney World, and watching her beloved Red Sox and Celtics.
Anita was the widow of Albert D. Gilbert who died in 1979, and was predeceased by a grandchild Bobby Kuhr.
