Sherman- Funeral services for Willie Jacobs will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday April 21 at the First Baptist Church of Sherman. Burial will follow at Cedarlawn Memorial Park.

Willie Bate Jacobs was born on December 10, 1934 on Mastin Ranch near Grandview, Texas and went to be with the Lord April 18, 2018 in Sherman, Texas at home.

He served in the army from 1957-1959. He worked for the Sherman Democrat before working at Austin College as director of the news bureau, public relations, alumni association and sports information from 1960-1976. Since 1975 Willie has worked as an independent insurance agent. Willie worked from February 2003-2007 as interview coordinator at the NFL combine, Indianapolis, Indiana

Willie was a member of the rockabilly band, the Strikes from 1956-1957. He was also sponsor of the Phi Sigma Alpha fraternity while employed at Austin College.

Mr. Jacobs is survived by his wife, Frances Redburn Jacobs; children, Gary Jacobs, Dennis Jacobs, and Jennifer Davidchik; grandchildren, Thomas Jacobs, Kevin Jacobs, Will Jacobs, Autumn Jacobs, Hannah Miller, Caroline Jacobs, Michaela Davidchik, Clarice Davidchik, and Steven Davidchik.
