Miller Dean (Jack) Reed
ILION – Miller Dean (Jack) Reed, 73, of 8 Marshall Ave., Ilion, passed away Tuesday.
Mr. Reed was born March 28,1906 in Turin, N.Y., son of Willard and Myrtle Sabin Reed. He married Alice Lehowicz in 1930. He was employed by Sperry Univac for 25 years and also headed the dance band entitled 'Jack Reed and His Orchestra' for many years. He was a member of the Ilion United Methodist Church, Ilion Lodge #1444 B.P.O.E., Ilion Fish & Game Club, a retired member of the Nichol Platers and Polishers Union and the A.A.R.P.
He is survived by his wife, Alice; a daughter, Mrs. Robert (Sylvia) Bulson of Ilion; four sisters, Mrs. Pearl Fiesthumel of Utica, Mrs. Mary Hill of
Rome, Mrs. Mildred Durr of Ogdensburg and Mrs. Josephine Kraeger of Constableville; four grandchildren.
Services will be 11 a.m. Friday from the Whiter-Hendrix Funeral Home, with interment in Armory Hill Cemetery. Calling hours are 7 to 9 tonight and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 Thursday. Ilion Elks will conduct services at 8 p.m. Thursday from the funeral home.
