Alta Jo Handy Bumpas, 69 of White Hall, passed away, Monday, April 16, 2018.
Born June 19, 1948 at Coleman, Texas, she was a daughter of the late George Frances Handy and Edna Mae Keller Handy.
A homemaker first and foremost, she worked outside of the home at various local hotels in housekeeping.
Her pastimes included traveling, camping, spending time with family and friends, and spoiling grandchildren.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by three siblings, John Handy, Mary York and Judy Miller.
She is survived by her loving husband of more than 50 years, James Bumpas, to whom she was married May 20, 1965; a son, Johnny Bumpas (Wendy); daughter, Jo Ann Wegner (Richard); brothers, Lee Handy, George “Bud” Handy, and Jack Handy; sisters, Vicki Evans, Edna Stillman and Nancy Glover; grandchildren, Ashton Yarbrough, Megan Crowder and Allyson Bumpas; great-grandchildren, Jessie, Remington and Lily; and many other loving family and friends.
