Pensacola - 1937-2018
James Leroy Cromwell, 81, passed away on Tuesday, April 17, 2018 in Pensacola, FL. He was preceded in death by his wife, Alene Lawrence Cromwell from Mississippi and his daughter, Janet Witt. He is survived by his son, James Lawrence (Nancy) Cromwell; son-in-law Jim Witt; brother, Robert (Cindy) Cromwell of Cincinnati, OH; his sister Martha Cromwell Hagler of Yoder, IN; grandchildren: Jennifer Westerfield and Kris Cromwell (Jessica Davis) and great-grandchildren: Cameron Westerfield, and Tyler and Emily Cromwell. The family would like to acknowledge and thank Lonnie Collinsworth for his friendship and support.
James was born in Richmond, IN and served in the U.S. Navy, retiring as a Chief Petty Officer (E-7), instructing airplane repairs and travelled to many different countries while serving his country. He was always ready to share his knowledge. One fond memory was when his grandson asked him a question, then interrupted Grandpa to tell him, "Grandpa, I asked you the time, not how to build the clock!"
Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family on Sunday, April 22, 2018 from 12:00-2:00 p.m. at Eastern Gate Memorial Funeral Home, immediately followed by a service. Interment will take place at a later time at Barrancas National Cemetery in Pensacola.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Eastern Gate Memorial Funeral Home.
