Mrs. Clara “Irene” Stephens, age 93 of Hutsonville, IL, passed away on Sunday April 15, 2018 at 4:07 AM at Crawford Memorial Hospital, Robinson, IL following several months of failing health.
Born September 8, 1924 in Antwerp, OH, she was the daughter of Joseph and Fannie Mae (Bright) Griswold.
On November 29, 1941 she married Harold Leo Stephens and he preceded her in death October 20, 1997.
Irene was an assembler for the Victor Dana Corporation, Robinson, IL and was a member of the Victor Dana Employees Union.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Arlene and Ira Lee Bowman, Robinson, IL; a son and daughter-in-law, Richard “Rick” and Cheryl Stephens, Robinson, IL; daughter and son-in-law, Rosalee and Don Winters, Hutsonville, IL; six grandchildren, LeAnne Harp, Robinson, IL, Brent and Dawn Stephens, Nolansville, TN, Jeff and Misty Keeler, Flat Rock, IL, Bradley and Carrie Stephens, Elk Grove, CA, Dan and Marcey Winters, Robinson, IL, Tim and Tracy Winters, West Union, IL; fifteen great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren, with one on the way, and two nieces, Marcella Gray and Mary D. Allison, a nephew Ronald Tennant, Valpraiso, IN.
Preceding Irene in death were her parents; husband Harold Leo Stephens, 1997; two brothers and one-half sister.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday April 18, 2018 7:00 PM at Pulliam Funeral Home, Hutsonville, IL. Visitation will be Wednesday April 18, 2018 from 5:00 PM until time of service at 7:00 PM at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Hutsonville Cemetery, Hutsonville, IL at 11:00 AM on Thursday, April 19, 2018.
