Clyde “Lil Jack” Jackson, age 63, of Palmyra, Il. died Tuesday morning (April 17, 2018) at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield, Il.

He was born September 16, 1954 in Carrollton, Il. son of late Harvey and Betty Eyer Jackson.

He married Margaret Bennett on September 2, 1982 in Tooele, Utah and she survives.

Also surviving are his children, Brandy Jackson (Nathan Shaffer) of Springfield, Il., Tanya Warren (Brandon) of Clarksville, Tennessee, Betty Gray (Brad) of Clarksville, Tennessee, and Jeremy Jackson (Katie) of Hamlin, New York; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; three sisters, Diane Bettis (Bob) of Modesto, Il., Penny Jackson of Chatham, Il., and Michelle Axley of Clarksville, Tennessee; and brothers, Harvey “Bub” Jackson of Hettick, Il., and Darold Eyer of Clermont, Florida; and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and three brothers, David, Omar, and Dennis Jackson.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving 20 years as a mechanic and supply officer. He was a past employee of Hendrickson Trailer Company in Clarksville, Tennessee. He moved back to the Palmyra area in 2011. He was a member of the Clarksville V.F.W. in Clarksville, Tennessee. He was a St. Louis Cardinal baseball fan.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday (April 21, 2018) at Stults-Neece Chapel in Palmyra, Il. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery where graveside military rites will be conducted by Palmyra American Legion Post at a later date. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. til the time of services Saturday at the chapel.
