Mr. Northen left this life to enter eternal life with his Heavenly Father, Tuesday, April 10, 2007 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was a member of the Rotary Club, a "Paul Harris Fellow" and a deacon of Springs of Grace Baptist Church.
Gary lived a full and wonderful life. First, he loved the Lord, his church and his many friends. Second, he loved his family and the times they shared. His grandchildren were the "apple of his eye". Next, he was, probably, a charter member of the Boston Red Sox Booster Club. He was their #1 fan. Gary never met strangers and enjoyed being surrounded by friends and family. His favorite pastime was shopping for antiques. If you knew Gary, you loved him. He will be forever loved and missed by his family and friends.
Mr. Northen was preceded in death by his mother, Anna Lee Northen.
Family left to cherish his memory are, his father, Marvin L. Northen; his loving wife of 50 years, Martha; son, Gary T. Northen, Jr. and wife, Janet; daughter, Amy Barnett and husband, James; sister, Jean Northen; grandchildren Abby Allums, Kelsey Allums, Gary Northen, III, Tyler Northen and Olivia Northen.
Pallbearers will be Harvey Huffman, Charles Knox, Bill Johnson, Randy Brossette, Andy Craig, Buddy King, Rick Stovall and Mark Norman.
Honorary pallbearers will be J.D. Flores, Arnold Norman, Milford Keene, James C. Foster, Gene Sparling, Deacons and Elders of Springs of Grace Baptist Church.
