Ret. Capt. Jerry Osborne, age 78, passed away on Saturday, May 27, 2017 at the Veterans Center in Lawton.
Jerry was born in Sardinia, Ohio on June 18, 1938. He grew up and graduated from high school in Sardinia. After high school, he joined the United States Army and proudly served for twenty years as a Master EOD Technician. He graduated from Officer Candidate School and was stationed across the country and overseas, including Germany, Italy and Greenland. He and Peggy were married on July 3, 1963. After retiring from the Army, Jerry enrolled at Cameron University and earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting. He worked as a business manager at Aubrey Chevrolet in Lawton for fourteen years, before retiring in 2008. Jerry enjoyed golfing and riding his bicycle and often entered and participated in races, including the Hotter N’ Hell Hundred.
Preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Catherine and one aunt, Ellen Davis, Jerry is survived by his wife Peggy; children, Rocky and wife Tracy, John and wife Leah, James and wife Joy and Eric and wife Selda; grandkids, Ryan, Brittany, Patrick, Michaela, Daniel, Rocky, Alexander and Connor and great grandson, Rhett.
The family wishes to thank the staff of the Yellow Wing at the Lawton Veterans Center for their loving care.
