Mr. Kenneth L. (Ken) Hess of Millington, MI passed away suddenly late Saturday afternoon April, 7, 2018 at his Millington residence. Ken was 66.
Ken was the son of Arlene (Hope) and Kenneth D. Hess and was born in Flint, Michigan on November 10, 1951. A lifelong Millington residence, he grew up and graduated with the class of 1970 from Millington High School. After high school Ken served our country during the Vietnam Era in the US-Army. In December of 1975 Ken married Miss Kimberly (Kim) De Shano, and together they have celebrated 42 years of marriage. Ken had many jobs during his life. He drove wrecker for his dad, Hess Wrecker Service. He later retired as a truck driver from Suttles Trucking, he delivered bulk mail to the area post offices. Ken loved the outdoors, spending time hunting with family and friends. In his younger days he raced motor cycles on both dirt and ice. During ice races you could find him in the side-hack while his father drove. He raced scrambles at the Bull-Dog Motor Cycle track in addition to other types of races across the state. Ken spent most Sundays watching NASCAR racing and cheering on his favorite drivers. This time of year, Ken often spent a lot of time in the woods looking for morale morale mushrooms.
Ken leaves behind his wife Kim, son Craig, and a grandson Mason Hess. He also leaves his mother, Mrs. Arlene (Hope) Hess. His two brothers; Steve (Karen) Hess and James (Jim) Hess. Two sisters; Pam (Mike) Dusute, and Debbie (Randy) Prewett. Ken also leaves several, nieces, nephews, and extended family. Ken is preceded in death by his father Kenneth D Hess (1985), and several other family and extended family members.
