Services are Tuesday for the Rev. Albert W. Marshall, who died Friday at Mercy Care Center in Oakland. He was 57. A native of Santa Cruz, Rev. Marshall entered the Novitiate of the Salesians of St. John Bosco in Newton, N.J. in 1957. He was ordained into the priesthood at Valley Roman Catholic Church in Watsonville in 1969. Soon after his ordination, Rev. Marshall became vice principal of Salesian High School in Los Angeles, where he later became principal. In 1979, he worked as campus minister at St. John Bosco High School in the Los Angeles suburb of Bellflower. Rev. Marshall also served briefly as director of religious activities at Salesian High School in Richmond. He eventually retired to Watsonville in 1983, where he lived until poor health forced him to move to the Mercy Care Center. As a member of the Salesian order, Rev. Marshall dedicated his life to serving youth and especially the poor as a teacher, catechist and administrator. A Christian Mass is scheduled for 11 a.m. Tuesday in the Salesian Community Chapel of Salesian High School, Richmond. Burial will follow at the nearby Salesian Cemetery."
