He is the son of the late Albert and Minnie Chezik. John was preceded in death by two brothers, Theodore and Paul Chezik. Mr. Chezik was a foreman at Allied Chemical with 30 years of service, a member of the American Legion Post 146 and a U.S. Army Air Force veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Evelyn S. Chezik; a son; a daughter; three grandchildren; a brother; a very special friend, Harold; and two grandpuppies.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 17, 2010, at the Nelsen Funeral Home, 214 N. 6th Ave.,, Hopewell, and where funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 18, 2010, with the Rev. Wayne Good officiating. Interment will follow in Merchants Hope Memorial Gardens."
