Emily Alexander
Emily C. Alexander, 72, a resident of Glen Burnie for most of her life, died on April 5 at Baltimore Washington Medical Center.
She was born on July 29, 1939 in Dillon, SC to Esther Barnhill and the late Albert B. Barnhill. Mrs. Alexander worked as an admitting supervisor at Baltimore Washington Medical Center for over 30 years, retiring in 2000. She was a past member of Glen Lutheran Church. Mrs. Alexander enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and going on dinner dates with her friends. She also enjoyed the companionship of her dogs.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John N. Alexander Jr.; and her father, Albert.
She is survived by her mother, Esther Barnhill of SC; two sons, John N. Alexander III of PA and Gregory S. Alexander Sr. of Glen Burnie; her sister, Betty Gardner of Baltimore; six grandchildren, Angela Curry, Rachele Alexander, Tabatha Johnson, Gregory Jr., Donnie and Christopher Alexander; and two great-grandchildren, Brianna Serio and Kaylie Wischman.
Friends may call from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Friday at the Stallings Funeral Home, PA where funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday. Interment Cedar Hill Cemetery.
