Mr. Drenkhahn underwent an operation at the Lutheran Hospital in St. Louis about three months ago and was recuperating at the home of his daughter. He was getting along very nicely until a short time before his death when he began to suffer from heart trouble. His advanced age was through to have caused this.
He was born in Collinsville June 16, 1848, and spent his life here. Until about three years ago he worked at Lumaghi No. 3 coal mine, but at that time he retired because of advanced age.
He is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Edna Haarhauser and Mrs. Dora Wilkins of St. Louis, Mrs. Ella Blyth of Detroit, and six sons, George and John Drenkhahn, Harry Drenkhahn of St. Louis, Theodore of California, and Ben and Elmer Drenkhahn of Collinsville. He also has sixteen granchildren. His wife, Mrs. Lena Drenkhahn, died June 20 1928.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 2:30 p.m. from the residence of his son, Benjamin Drenkhahn, 318 Brown avenue. Reverend C. H. Kulhmann will officiate. Burial will be made in the Lutheran cemetery.
