Charles attended Floydada schools and also participated in the Special Olympics with his classmates. An avid sports lover, Charles was the king of backyard three-pointers, as he loved to play basketball with his neighborhood friends. He loved all kinds of music and could win any dance contest with his famous “shoulder shake” and “shimmy”. Christmas was Charles’ favorite holiday because he not only loved being showered with gifts, but somehow understood and embraced the true spirit of the season. Charles’ favorite pastime was going for a ride to get a “Coke” and he loved to “interview” everyone that visited with his toy microphone.
