Connie Kay Nelson, 71, of Cozad, formerly of St. Paul, died Sunday, April 15, 2018, at her home.
Funeral Services will be 10:30 A.M. Saturday, April 21, 2018 at Jacobsen-Greenway Funeral Home in St. Paul. Rod Pedersen will be officiating. Interment will be in the Elba Cemetery. Jacobsen-Greenway Funeral Home in St. Paul is in charge of the arrangements.
Connie was born on October 19, 1946 in St. Paul, Nebraska, the daughter of Lucille (Starkey) and Benny Graus.
She grew up in St. Paul and attended St. Paul Public School and received her GED in 1964.
Connie was united in marriage to Stanley Nelson on May 26, 1962 in Fullerton, NE.
Connie and Stan managed motels for 25 years, in Nebraska, Oklahoma, Iowa and Kansas, mostly Best Western and Super 8 motels. Connie worked with the Library in Kensington, KS during the school year and was city librarian for 7 years.
Connie and Stan moved to Cozad in April of 2016.
She enjoyed sewing, quilting, doing crafts, making Christmas stockings and skirts and beaded calendars.
She attended the Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include her husband, Stanley Nelson of Cozad; daughters and sons-in-law, Teresa and Howard Givens of Altus, OK, LeeAnn and James Flint of Elwood, NE; 10 grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
