Clara Dean Murray, 79, of Pekin, passed into the arms of Jesus at 3 a.m. Monday, April 16, 2018 at Pekin Manor. She was born April 4, 1939 to Homer Marcus and Lula Victoria Eaves.

She leaves behind five children, Deb McKay Brown, Rose McKay, Charles McKay, Sandy Kline (Kelly Vansaghi), and Kevin (Starana) Murray. She is also survivied by twenty-two grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; and two sisters.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister; eight brothers; and one grandson.

For many years as her children grew, Clara was a dedicated stay-at-home Mother. Later she worked for Pekin Community High School, then retired. She was also a door greeter for Walmart in Pekin, last working in 2011.

Clara's greatest accomplishment was raising her children. She cherished all of them, and deeply enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Everyone that knew Clara adored her, and both her family and friends would say she had an endless love for her family, music and dancing. She will be forever loved and forever missed.

Per Clara's wishes, there will be a private burial. Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. The family will host a celebration of life at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be given in Clara's honor to a charity of the donor's choice.
