Don graduated from Logan High School in 1950 and enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1952. Following his time in the Air Force, Don went to work with his father at his trucking company. He owned and operated Lester C. Greene & Son Trucking Co. until his retirement in 1999. He married Jean Schultz on May 17, 1958 and they later divorced. On January 17, 1981 Don married JoAnne Mathy Smaby.
Don enjoyed taking family vacations in Florida and fishing trips to Canada. He also loved gardening, his lawn tractors and taking his grand kids on rides. Above all else Don was a family man who loved to have fun and make people laugh.
He is survived by his wife JoAnne; daughter, Beth (Tim) Besl; step-son, Michael Smaby; grandchildren: Jarrod and Jessica Besl; step-grandchildren: Marissa and Samantha Smaby; sisters: Marlene (Richard) Merfeld and Myrna (Terry) Swanson; nieces and nephews; Kris Glanzman, Scott Merfeld, Cindy Merfeld, Brad Swanson, Dena Swanson (Jason) Nix; and a brother-in-law, Charles (Sue) Mathy.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Elaine and Jeanette Greene.
Burial will be in the Burns Cemetery.
