Evelyn P. Smith, 84, passed away Wednesday, December 24, 2008 at Hospice Home in Fort Wayne. She was born October 18, 1924 in Spiceland, IN, the daughter of Everett and Louise (Willis) Pennington. She worked for Lincoln National Life Insurance Co. for 6 years retiring in 1986. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, where she sang in the choir for many years. Survivors include her children, Earl L. Smith of Chicago, IL, Elizabeth D. Strawbridge of Charlevoix, MI, David B. (Elizabeth) Smith, Cynthia (Richard) Malecki both of Fort Wayne, Timothy A. (Jullia) Smith, and Charles P. Smith of Harbor Springs, MI; and 10 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl L. Smith and daughter, Natalie Marie Smith. Service is 2pm Monday at First Presbyterian Church, 300 W. Wayne St.
