Born in Baltimore, Md., on Jan. 13, 1937, Mr. Griffin was the son of the late Lawrence K. Griffin Sr. and Eva B. Keyser Griffin. He had been a self-employed plumber and had lived in the Mid-Shore area since the 1980s. He was a U.S. Army veteran and was a member of the Hurlock Sons of the American Legion 243. He enjoyed camping and hunting, and was a member of the American Mountain Man Club.
Mr. Griffin is survived by his wife, Mary B. Griffin of Rhodesdale; a son, Kevin Griffin of Dagsboro, Del.; two daughters, Robin Barrera of Miami, Fla., and Traci Mendicino of Connecticut; three stepchildren, Angela Russell, Melissa Gunderson and John George MacFarland, all of Ridgely, Md.; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; and two step-great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a sister, Eva M. Vollstedt.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, April 20, in the Chapel at the Eastern Shore Veterans Cemetery near Hurlock, Md. There are no other services.
