Sharon Railey Porter, 70, of Midland, GA passed from her earthly life on Monday, September 11, 2017.

A memorial service honoring her life will be held 11:00 AM Friday, September 15, 2017 at Evangel Temple 5350 Veterans Parkway Columbus, GA 31904 with Rev. Jay Stewart of Kannapolis, NC officiating. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service at the church according to McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.

Sharon was born on June 5, 1947 in Columbus, GA to the late James W. and Lorene C. Railey. She worked in several Civil Service positions at Ft. Benning in the main Infantry Building, the Gas Company of Columbus, Receptionist at Green Island Country Club of Columbus, was a participant in Leadership Columbus, and was a past president of the Kiwanis Club.

She attended Evangel Temple Church and loved attending events involving her grandchildren, activities with extended family, sewing, decorating, all the family pets, going to the beach and watching University of Alabama football.
Sharon's sense of humor and outgoing personality will be missed by her family and many friends.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Lori and Philip Denson, granddaughter, Hallie Denson, grandsons, Reid and Buddy Denson, sister, Lynette Stewart, brother, Jim Railey (Cam), uncle and aunt, Richard and Shirley Chapman of Brundidge, AL, niece, Brooke Phillips (Brian), nephews, Thomas R. Stewart (Joanna), Jay Stewart (Melanie), Scott Stewart (Sheree) and Brian Railey and many cousins.

The family would like to express special appreciation to Dr. Donna Burrell and Dr. Mukesh Kumar for the exceptional care they provided Sharon.
