Jamie Victoria Devaney Ward (Jamie), of Bradshaw, TX, formerly of Granbury, TX passed away on Tuesday, April 10, 2018.

Service: 11:00 AM, Tuesday, April 17, 2018, Acton Baptist Church. Graveside: Holly Hills Memorial Park, Visitation: 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM, Monday, April 16, 2018, Wiley Funeral Home, Granbury.

Memorial donations may be made to Pioneer Drive Baptist Church Building Fund, American Heart Association, American Cancer Society or to a charity of your choice.

Jamie was born on July 23, 1927 near Hawley, TX to Benjamin Samuel Devaney and Minnie Elizabeth Henslee Devaney. She graduated from Anson High School in 1944. She proudly served as a Cadet Nurse in the Army Air Corps in 1944. She attended Hardin Simmons University.

She married J.P. Ward, Jr. on January 31, 1945 in Ft Myers, FL. She worked as a Teacher's Aide for 17 years in Snyder ISD and Birdwill ISD. She retired in 1982.

Jamie was a member of Pioneer Drive Baptist Church in Abilene. She was a member of the Snyder Ladies Club, Coaches Wives, Retired Teachers and LLL Club at Acton Baptist Church.

Jamie was an amazing daughter, sister, aunt, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and teacher to Special Needs Students.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband: J.P. Ward, Jr., son-in-law: James Headstream, siblings: Ada Phillips, Agnes Carter, Pauline Cornelius, Jermine Matthews, Walter Devaney, Cecil Devaney and Little Henry Devaney and sister-in-law: Maybell Scott.

Jamie is survived by her children: Glenn L. Ward and wife Carolyn of Granbury, TX, Donna Ward Headstream of Bradshaw, TX, Benny A. Ward and wife Kathy of San Angelo, TX, Ron W. Ward and wife Sybi of Austin, TX, Victoria Ward Allen and husband Jim of Granbury, TX, brother: Benny Devaney and wife Bonnie of Chandler Heighte, AZ, brother-in-law: Donald Ward and wife Frances of Anson, TX, grandchildren: Donna Ward, James Headstream, Mindy and Ric Logsdan, Dalese and Eric Black, Amy and Ed Meier, Drew and Julia Ward, Brooke Smith, Aaron Ward, Josh and April Norman, and Clay and Tanya Smith, great-grandchildren: Will Smith, Allen Black, Penelope Meier, Logan Ward, Caroline Black, Nolan Meier, and Leia Ward and numerous nieces and nephews.
