MacClain, Alta Marie, 101, business owner, died April 13. Services 10 a.m. Wednesday, First Christian Church (Trout, Ponca City).

Alta Marie Rogers Alexander MacClain, age 101, of Ponca City, OK passed away Friday, April 13, 2018 at her home east of Ponca City.

Friends and loved ones may pay their respects at the funeral home from 5-8pm Monday, April 16 and from 8am-8pm Tuesday, April 17. A funeral ceremony to celebrate her life will be held Wednesday April 18, 2018 at 10:00 am at the First Christian Church in Ponca City with Rev. Larry B. Metzger officiating. She will be laid to rest privately at the Gracelawn Cemetery in Edmond, OK next to her beloved husband Thomas. Arrangements are under the direction of Trout Funeral Home & Crematory.

Alta was born on August 20, 1916, in Stroud, OK to James and Beatrice (Wilcher) Rogers. She grew up in Wauhillau and the Stroud area. She married Thomas F. Alexander in 1933, and they made their home in the various oil patches around Oklahoma before his passing in 1956. Alta then moved to Edmond, where she raised their three children and began operating a cosmetology salon, "Alta's House of Style", in her home. She was an active member of the First Baptist Church as long as she lived in Edmond. In 2006, at age 90, she moved to Ponca City to live with her daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Marshall Basham. Throughout her life, Alta enjoyed collecting antiques, cooking, and spending time with her family and church friends. She also traveled the world, visiting every continent except Australia. Her life was blessing to all who knew her.

Survivors include her children: Judy Basham and husband Marshall of Ponca City, Thomas F. Alexander II, of Ada, OK;

Grandchildren: Timothy Brett Basham of Oklahoma City, Christopher Jay Basham and wife Annie of Denver, CO, Erin Elizabeth Morrison and husband Richard of Tulsa, OK, Bryan Alexander and wife Angel of Ft. Bragg, N.C., Megan Alexander of Ada, OK, Jeffrey Enoch, Mike Enoch, and Retta Evans, all of Birmingham, AL,

Great grandchildren: Dylan, Flint, Bonnie, Jaynie, Bo, Lizzie, and Ikie Lee Morrison; Ella and Jane Basham, Talon Alexander, Coy Alexander, Zac Evans, and Jake Enoch. .

Alta was preceded in death by her husbands Thomas F. Alexander and Floyd B. MacClain; infant twin sons Larry Alexander and Jerry Alexander, daughter Janet Sue Lippert, sister Nola Faye Lambert and grandson Tom Enoch.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Alta's memory may be made to the Nature Center at Camp McFadden, PO Box 1495, Ponca City, OK 74602.
